Austrian canoeists refer to as the most beautiful river Salza their mountainous country. The holidays are filled with rafts, canoes and kayaks Hungarians, Slovaks and Czechs. Paddling on the surface drinking water among white limestone rocks is magical.

Difficulty: the upper and middle flow WW I-II, the lower flow WW III
Character: paddlers should expect big waves, water cylinders, rapid current and rocky gorges
Risk: the rescue can be difficult, it is important to help friends
Qualification: the crew must fully control the boat, swimming and rescue
Camps: Wildalpen, Palfau, Kornberg

Salza is always enough water and does not dry even in hot summer.

The river flows around the mountain Hochschwab and offers boaters three sections of varying difficulty and another character.

First, zigzagging between perpendicular rocks, then spills into a broad valley and then quietly gaining strength and accelerates up to the finals in the rapids.

Middle and lower reaches are paddling on large rafts, the upper is only suitable for inflatable canoe. Among them are intertwined kayaks because they are among the most popular canoeing Austrian ships.

Beware, however, the Austrian laws! Rafting on the four-and multi-seat boats are allowed only with special permission agencies and trained guides. Travel agencies can hire local specialists their tours.
