Stefan Glowacz is one of the most successful alpinists ever with more than 30 years of climbing experience. Reaching the top in sport climbing (1987, 1988 and 1992 Rock Master, winner of the 1992 Albertville Olympic demo challenge and World Vice-Champion in 1993), Stefan focused on conquering nature trails. A passion for travel and adventure pulls him to the unique and hard-to-reach places. Stefan conquered the most difficult climbing routes in the Alps, organized an expedition to Canada (Baffin Island), and visited unexplored areas of Brazil, Argentina and Venezuela. During his expeditions Glowacz minimizes usage of technical support.

"The helicopter can take you to any place in just a few hours, but it completely destroys the whole idea of what I'm trying to reach" - says Stefan: "I call my philosophy 'Searching for the Moment'. In everyone's life there are moments that are staying with you forever. For me, these moments of great excitement are usually related with reaching new destinations and conquering new heights. I deliberately refuse of technical assistance – flying to the point never brings the same enjoyment as reaching the remote location by your own. Only by overcoming the difficulties, by overcoming yourself, I achieve this feeling of Moment."
When Stefan first heard about the Seven Giants - a mystical stone formation, located in a remote part of the Urals, he was psyched immediately.
Local legend says that once those 30-meter high pillars were a family of seven Giant brothers, who terrorized the neighborhood and were turned into stone by the powerful wizard. "It is a very unique place which is rightfully called one of the wonders of Russia. I have never seen anything like Giants before and couldn’t stop thinking about reaching those mysterious rocks, during winter when the harsh northern nature is especially beautiful. That’s how the Red Bull 7 Giants project was born.
It took us almost 7 days of skiing to reach the Man-Pupu-Ner and two more days to climb on the Elder Brother - the biggest of 7 Stones. Plateau Man Pupu Ner is as a unique place, and it's incredible that I was able to visit it, to see the stunning natural surroundings. In addition, it was very interesting to talk with the local people, learn more about the culture and lifestyle of the people of Muncie."
Deemed one of the Seven Wonders of Russia, the Manpupuner rock formations are a very popular attraction in Russia, though not well known internationally and relatively unspoiled by tourism.
