Yachtsman Richard Konkolski received the Medal of Merit from the President of the Czech Republic Miloš Zeman. The medal is high state awards during the celebration of the anniversary of the State of Czechs.

Richard Konkolski was born in 1943 in Bohumín, Czech Reublic, Europe.

In northern Moravia became the best racing yachtsman. In 1972 he took part in races lonely sailors across the Atlantic from Plymouth to Newport. Although mast broke, but she arrived on 41 site. In 1999, he was awarded the Czech Sailing Association honorary membership. He wrote several popular yacht books and movies and the television broadcast. Richard Konkolského now working in his multimedia studio.
